Carrier Air Conditioners
13.0 SEER WeatherMaker 38TXA
New R-410A Air Conditioner Provides Chlorine-Free Cooling
Option
Now homeowners who want to own an air conditioner that offers
high efficiency and reliable performance — and help protect
the environment at the same time — have the perfect solution:
Carrier’s new WeatherMaker 38TXA.
Earning the seal of approval
- Consumers say they want an air conditioner that doesn’t
harm the environment yet still provides efficiency, easy
serviceability and reliability,” explains Rick DeMarco,
Carrier’s vice president of residential marketing. “By using
R-410A refrigerant, we can now offer homeowners a high-performance
cooling choice that is both environmentally sound and affordable.”
- Because R-410A (a chlorine-free refrigerant) complies
with governmental legislation phasing out ozone-depleting
refrigerants well ahead of the 2010 deadline, the 38TXA
can eliminate homeowners’ concerns about having to replace
their cooling systems.
- The environmental benefits of R-410A have already earned
the 38TXA one prestigious honor: the unit is the first residential
air conditioner to be approved by Green Seal, a national,
non-profit environmental labeling organization.
The high-performance choice
- The WeatherMaker 38TXA is Carrier’s highest-efficiency
single-speed residential air conditioner, with a SEER rating
of 14.0. It is also one of the quietest and most compact
available.
- “Our research indicates homeowners want high efficiency
first and foremost in their cooling systems,” DeMarco adds.
“They also want low sound levels. The new 38TXA provides
both benefits.”
- The WeatherMaker 38TXA’s high efficiency rating enables
homeowners to reduce their cooling costs by between 40 and
60 percent. It also qualifies the unit for the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency’s Energy Star residential program, which
promotes the development and marketing of energy-efficient
products that reduce energy consumption and pollution.
- The sound level for the new unit is as low as 7.1 bels,
putting it in a category with the quietest in-home appliances.
Similar units on the market average a bel rating of 8.0
(nearly 10 times louder) or higher.
Worry-free operation
- Dealer service and installation procedures for the new
air conditioner are very similar to those for systems using
current (R-22) refrigerants. The unit is backed by a 10-year
limited warranty on the compressor and a one-year limited
warranty on parts.
